Stitches

Well Hannah started the day ok. She was her usual hyper self. She was jumping around and hit her head. Came to me in tears. I calm her down and tell her to calm down.  About 2hrs later she comes to me screaming. Blood is all in her mouth. I freak and get a wash cloth and soak it with water and try to clean it out. I have her just keep it in her mouth to stop the blood. I notice some tiny "chunks" coming out and I try not to panic. I can see that she scrapped some of the gums off one of her teeth. (I could see the root and stuff) so I freak and call mom asking her if her dentist takes AHCCCS. She says yes and asks why. I tell her whats going on and she calls Dr. Lisa and tells me to call her dentist. I don't even bother b/c 2 seconds later she tells me to get Hannah to the Drs. ASAP b/c they're waiting for her. (thankfully I was already dressed and showered for the day... Adam got dressed when I was on the phone w/mom) So we just throw shoes on Hannah and go. We get there and Dr. Spiess and Lisa think she needs to go see an oral surgeon b/c of her teeth. They both feel she needs stitches. She calls this guy and he was already leaving but headed right back and would be waiting for us! So we wait for the ins to approve it and off we go.

Dr. Cull and his staff are AMAZING!!!!!! I would recommend them to any one! The whole staff stayed, (they all had work out clothes on b/c they were all gonna leave to go to the gym) and made sure we were ok. Dr. Cull is wonderful. He talked to Hannah like she was an adult and told her everything that he was going to do. Since she was small they had me sit in the chair and had her lay on top of me. (Pretty sweet deal.) They took an x-ray and all her teeth were fine. (Saw her adult teeth.... lol poor kid is gonna have buck teeth when they come in! They're HUGE!) So all he had to do was stitch her up. He said she would probably heal on her own, but since it was extra gums.... he wanted to stitch it up. He was amazed that she didn't mess her teeth up. He said she perfectly pushed her ups straight up. Also, that piece of gum that connects the upper lip to the gums (run your tongue up your teeth and you will feel it) he said that is totally useless thing to have, but Hannah totally got rid of hers. So if she ever needed baby dentures, she's ahead of the game! lol So they numb her lip and then they have to give her shots to numb it all the way. He told her this would hurt but it would be over fast. Hannah squeezed my hand and was such a champ! She whined a little, but didn't cry. (My big girl). After that, she was fine. She even said her stitches TICKLED!  Dr. Cull and staff were so amazed on how well she did. They couldn't believe she was 3. We go in a week to check everything out. (They're getting treats since they were sooo amazing!)

After we got her scripts (Walgreens sux and didn't bother to tell me they were out of one and I had to run around town to get it) she ate and was happy as can be! Here is a pic of her stitches!
